The Women: Thumbs Up or Thumbs Down? and Favorite Chick Flicks

The Women has been in theaters for a couple of weeks now. This film has been much-hyped as a “movie to see with your girlfriends.” A remake of a 1938 classic, it features a cast bursting with female star power including Meg Ryan, Annette Bening, and Eva Mendes. So we were a bit bummed to hear that it’s been about as well-received as polyester at the prom. Check out this blog post from Bust: Friends Don’t Let Friends See ‘The Women’ It’s pretty scathing! Anyone want to weigh in on that, girlfriends? Have you seen the movie and what did you think? Help us decide whether to see it on our next girls night!

I just wanted to Thank you for starting this website, its been a tremendous help. I searched on Google looking for great party ideas for a Bridal Shower I’m planning, this was the best site I’ve found. Great ideas, I can’t wait to check out the rest of this site. My girlfriend and I have plans to go see this movie w/ her mother and her mother’s best friend. We go to the dinner/movie houses – get a bottle of wine and relax!!
Now the other night I caught about 25 minutes of the original 1938 The Women. I think that would be a fun girls night! Get a FEW bottles of wine – some food and get comfy and hang w/ your girlfriends and watch the old movie! THEN plan your night out to go see the new one!
